I don't know how many of you have used this program, but I think it's neat. It downloads stuff a lot faster than internet explorer, and it can download stuff you normally wouldn't be able to, such as music from websites like Project Playlist. Now here's where the problem comes in. On certain websites, like the zone, it tries to download the sound files, like when I'm playing high-low it will try to download the sounds the site is playing. This is annoying because I don't want a "file download" window opening up every time a sound occurs on a website. So, have any of you used this program, and if so, have you found a way around this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm assuming you got that from my ftp. There should be an exceptions list that you should be able to tell it not to download. However, Even thoguh I increased the downlaod threads I don't really see any download speeds iincrease have you?
No, I didn't get it from your ftp. I got it from Jaws-users.com. They have some nice programs on there, but this is not one of them. I haven't noticed any increase in speed, actually it was moving slower than IE normally would yesterday, so I uninstalled it. After I got rid of it, IE was downloading files at the usual speed with no problems. I don't know what was up with that.
I done the same thing, which is the reason I uninstalled it, as I said.
What made u think she got it off of your FTP Cody? I don't think she even knows the address. This is y I use firefox for my downloading. The thing downloads extremely quick, because it moves the downloads to the background unlike IE.
Nope, I don't know the address. I have no problem with how fast IE downloads files, but this program is crap. I forgot to mention that after I uninstalled it, a "windows no disk" message came up and I had to hit cancel like 6 times to get rid of it. So I don't recommend anybody else trying out that program.
Just because you had issues doesn't go for anyone else. I say she got it from me because I had just put it on there and considering I thought you had given it to her.
if you want to stay with IE, i'd suggest trying getRight for downloads, it's really quite good
www.getright.com is the site
Thanks, I'll look at that. And Cody, I was simply pointing out that it didn't do anything for me, in case anyone else had the same problem.
